Install the WordPress plugin

Download it, upload it to WordPress and connect your site. It takes about five minutes.

Download the plugin

The plugin is a single zip file, free and licensed under the GPL. Keep it zipped: WordPress installs the zip as it is.

  • WordPress 5.6 or newer
  • PHP 7.4 or newer
  • An administrator account on your site
  • An SEO plugin is optional: Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO are filled in automatically

Download the plugin · version 0.1.1

Step by step

Install it in WordPress

  1. 1

    Open the plugin uploader

Sign in to WordPress as an administrator. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.

  2. 2

    Upload the zip file

Click Choose File, pick bi-seo-autopilot.zip from your downloads and click Install Now.

  3. 3

    Activate it

When WordPress says the plugin was installed, click Activate Plugin. “SEO Autopilot Connector” now appears in your list of plugins.

  4. 4

    Copy your site key

Go to Settings → SEO Autopilot and click Copy next to the site key. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it can post articles to your site.

  5. 5

    Connect your site

In the SEO Autopilot dashboard, click + Add site, choose WordPress, enter your site address, paste the key and click Connect site. We check the connection straight away.

  6. 6

    Choose your defaults (optional)

Back on Settings → SEO Autopilot, pick the author and default category for new articles, and whether images inside articles are copied into your media library. Click Save Changes.

Updating to a new version

When a new version is out, the dashboard tells you. Download the zip again and upload it the same way. WordPress asks whether to replace the installed version: click Replace current with uploaded. Your key and settings stay as they are.

If something doesn't work

  • “No valid plugins were found” or “The package could not be installed”: WordPress got a folder instead of the zip. Safari on a Mac unzips downloads by default; download it again and upload the .zip file, or right-click the folder and choose Compress.
  • No Upload Plugin button: your account isn't an administrator, or your host doesn't allow plugins (for example, WordPress.com without a plan that supports plugins). Ask whoever manages the site.
  • “Invalid or missing site key”: copy the key again from Settings → SEO Autopilot. If someone clicked Generate new key, the old key stops working; paste the new one in the dashboard.
  • The connection check fails: a security plugin or firewall (Wordfence, Cloudflare and similar) may be blocking the WordPress REST API. Allow the path /wp-json/bi-seo/v1/; the plugin's settings page shows the exact address.
  • Still stuck? Write to info@bi-enterprises.com and a person will reply.

Removing the plugin

Deactivate and delete it under Plugins. Deleting removes the key and the plugin's settings. Articles already published stay on your site with their SEO data.
